Program Formatting Committee

Mission

The Program Formatting Committee’s mission is to format, proofread, and edit the full conference program and day-at-a-glance schedule. The Committee also looks for conflicts and conformance with SEALS requirements. After the initial program is assembled in the Fall, the Committee reaches out to all attendees in the spring and asks them to help in the review process.  After revising the program to incorporate changes submitted by conference participants, as well as any other changes that come to the Committee’s attention, the Committee thoroughly proofreads the program.  The Committee then works with a graphic designer on the program layout before sending it to the publisher.

Reports

2023 Annual Report

The Program Formatting Committee successfully completed its mission again this year: formatting the full conference schedule and day-at-a-glance. The website has been revamped, and it is now easier to edit the program, which has lessened the burden on the Committee. One complication has been that individuals who are listed in the program are making late decisions about whether to attend, but we have done the best we can to make the program as accurate as possible.

2021 Annual Report

The Program Formatting Committee successfully completed its mission this year: formatting the full conference schedule and day-at-a-glance. The committee had to adjust to new circumstances once again. The uncertainty of whether the conference would be in person or hybrid changed the timing of our work again. We successfully adjusted to these circumstances and were able to complete our work in a timely manner.

2020 Annual Report

The Program Formatting Committee successfully completed its mission this year: formatting the full conference schedule and day-at-a-glance. The committee had to adjust to new circumstances. First, the uncertainty of whether there would even be a conference, and, if so, whether it would be in person or remote. That uncertainty changed the timing of our work.  Second, once the conference went completely remote, we shifted to a completely online program. We successfully adjusted to these circumstances and were able to complete our work in a timely manner.

2018 Annual Report

The Program Formatting Committee this year successfully performed its mission: formatting the full conference schedule and day-at-a-glance. The committee worked very well together in proofing the schedule and dealing with a large volume of changes prior to the conference. We also worked with a graphic designer to make the final formatting of the program and day-at-a-glance, and then sent the programs to West to have those documents printed and sent to the hotel. We also continued to work with Peter Jetton on improving the electronic program submission system.
